Jerusalem / TERRACES & CITY VIEWS

The David Citadel

Facing the Old City

The experience

An address for travellers drawn to the Old City skyline. Room and suite categories offer different outlooks, with a terrace, spa, gym and business facilities supporting time between city visits.

The David Citadel stands at 7 King David Street, beside Mamilla Avenue and within walking distance of Jaffa Gate, in a position the hotel describes as connecting the Old City with the new. The building follows an architectural vision by Moshe Safdie, with interiors by Piero Lissoni. Its 385 rooms and suites include three Signature Suites, and room categories are defined by their outlook: towards the Old City walls, over the pool or across the newer city.

Leisure facilities are concentrated around the heated outdoor pool, which overlooks the Old City and has a poolside bar known for grilled dishes. Spa by Akasha offers massage, yoga and holistic treatments, and the third-floor gym uses Technogym equipment. Families can use Funland, a 400 m² play centre for children up to 14. Business travellers have an Executive Lounge, meeting rooms and a ballroom for up to 500 people. The hotel states that it is kosher under the supervision of the Jerusalem Rabbinate.

A good fit for

  • Travellers who want Old City views, available in several clearly named room and suite categories.
  • Families, thanks to Funland, family rooms for two adults and two children, and the poolside bar.
  • Business travellers and event planners who need a ballroom, meeting rooms and a quiet lounge for work.
  • Visitors who would rather walk to Mamilla Avenue and Jaffa Gate than drive.
